David Haffey
David earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting, in 1974 from the
University
of
Michigan
, and obtained a Michigan CPA license in 1976. His thirty plus years of public accounting experience with regional and local accounting firms has included an extensive and continuous involvement in accounting, auditing, financial and tax planning, and preparation of income tax and information returns. In 1988, he formed the
David Haffey
Professional Corporation to best provide these services.
David has worked successfully with people and organizations in a wide range of industries and occupations including builders and developers, contractors and laborers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers, landlords and investors, teachers and professors, scientists and researchers, artists and performers, attorneys, architects, engineers and physicians.
David has also developed and presented seminars on various tax and accounting topics for
Washtenaw
Community College
, the American Institute of Banking, Republic Bank, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce.
He has served as an officer or director of several not-for-profit organizations including the Cassini Ensemble, Lamaze Childbirth Preparation Association, Huron Rowing Association, Jazz For Life, Tanglewood Homeowners Association, and Ann Arbor YMCA Finance Committee.
Melissa Peoples
Melissa has worked in the accounting profession for the past eight years. During that time, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Business Management, and graduating in 2004, from
Eastern
Michigan
University
.
Melissa has experience with many different types of client businesses including real estate property management, residential construction, service businesses, contractors, restaurants and retailers. Her experience includes payroll administration and payroll tax return preparation, accounts receivable and accounts payable management and data entry, as well as preparation of income tax returns.
Melissa has been certified as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and has provided support to numerous clients, not only through Quickbooks installation and setup procedures, but in resolving issues with ongoing use and maintenance to enhance efficient and effective use of this versatile accounting software.
